So I'm settling into bed about a half hour ago when I hear some tire screeching, engine redlining, much like a burnout, followed by an impact that shook my windows and startled me right out of bed. I live 100 yards away, if that. I jump out of bed, scramble for the first pair of pants I can put on backwards, grab some rubber gloves (I'm a nurse in the trauma ICU) and run out to see this at the 7-11 next door to where I live:

Apparently he was already up on two as he careened into the parking lot into the retaining wall, then half-flip/spun into the position you see at the top. He was going west on Mt Rose St. Must have come through the green across Plumas, because he was going way over 50mph. Its a wonder there was nobody in the path in the parking lot. 40-50YO male, alone. Took off on foot west up Mt Rose or south down Lander. The cops haven't found him as of yet.
This guy had something he was going to be in big trouble for. Either stolen car, ETOH, narcotics, warrants, who knows. Audi airbags did their job.

This brain child decided that he can try and get away with leaving the scene of an accident it happened about 1225 and as of about 0110 hours he was in custody I was taken to his residence where I was able to give a positive id on the genius in question. The cops were just gonna give him a citation for those two misdemeanors but he was still to intoxicated as of 40 minutes after the wreck he was unable to sign the ticke so he was taken to county jail but the cops could NOT give him a DUI because he had taken his keys with him and in nevada you have to have the keys in the ignition and witnessed by a cop to get a DUI. the cops said "His lawyer would say he was shaken from the accident and drank at home" and that the charges wouldnt stick so soon this moron will probably be back out on the streets to do it again. Note he had a daughter that was thankfully not in the car but there was a little girls pillow in the backseat it was pink and all. I wonder what the conversation was like when he called his wife to pick him up and take him home. that would have been comical to hear huh????

the cab lost him but from the license plates and him
taking the keys they were able to track him down at
home where to moron went really brilliant man if you

awesome like a scene straight from Bad boys where cars
are going all over and its a wonder that since the car
was so far on its side i will always wonder how he
managed to land on the tires again? id say he was
doing between 60-70 mph and the cops didnt give me a
name but i know where he lives.

SO lucky you and i were really close we could have
both worked on him I used to be on the Washoe county
sheriffs hasty team am an EMT2 and was a rescue diver
in the military i have a full emt bag at home less
that 20 yards from the store. but he decided to take
off on foot foot note he bit himself in the mouth
somewhere that was bleeding but other than that he
seemed to be ok.

What a pisser. He probably won't get a DUI
