Wish in one hand and sh*t in the other...
Default WTB: Subaru block - any flat-4 - any condition

Need a block for mocking up stuff on an engine stand for upcoming awesomeness Subie products. It can have holes or cracks in it or whatever. A good deal on a short block would be okay too.

I assume that any Subie flat-4 engine block would work for this. Is there anything I should know or be looking out for?

Well loren just got his tranny fixed so I would just wait around for a little bit and one might "fall into your lap".

I've got a 2.0L short block in my garage, and some WRX heads down at GST that I'll get back when I pick up my car. Lemme know if that will help.

Thanks, KV. are you looking to sell it or just get it hauled away? Does anybody know of any significant differences between this 1.8L and the newer EJ205 and EJ257 - differences that would make it less useful for mocking up exhausts, oil pans, and such?

You can have it for a beer. I'm not sure about the oilpan but I don't see any issues with the exhuast.I'm pretty sure they are similar, It's the older 4 port style.

You can't sell that... I may need them.

You can bolt an EJ22E, EJ25D or EJ251 block into 1.8 heads. The EJ251 and EJ257 are outwardly the same. You can bolt EJ20x heads to an EJ257. Therefore, I think you could use the EJ18 simply to use as a mule to hang other parts on on an engine stand.

Who said I was selling it? I figured I'd give 'em to Matt for mockup use 'till you needed 'em (if you need them at all, I thought you had bits lined up already). Either way, I don't think test fitting exhaust components would break anything.

That is of course, unless I'm involved. Then it can all be broken.
