We've done 5 at the bar before. It takes a while, but it happens.

WHAT??!

back on topic, sitting at the bar is supposed to be the social thing anyway, shouldn't matter if you split 3/2, because chances are good you'll be talking to whoever happens to be sitting next to you, seccs or not.

The social thing depends on who you are sitting next to, like a russian mail order bride or perhaps a stripper. That way you can strike up a good conversation.

The way out is through

Back to the 7 people at 7pm deal... showing up at 6pm won't help, it just means you'll have a longer wait till 8:30.

To me, the whole point of sushi is to sit at the bar. That way you can order as your whims decide what you want to eat. Plus you get fresher fish (eating raw fish that's been sitting out 30 minutes won't hurt you, but it's much better when it's near frozen rather than room temperature). Having been screwed by the table thing 3 of the 3 times I've tried it, I don't bother any longer.

Anyway, if Matt and Mike are both out, getting 5 together at the bar is much more do-able, I'd be in for that.

Sushi was great. Thanks to Nick and Kevin, my unofficial guides, even though Kevin was occasionally confused.

I think I had 10 different kinds of Nigiri and 5 or so Maki.

Yum.

Too expensive, even at the back street places? Or is it a status thing there, now, sushi chefs getting paid the big bucks & such?
The cheapest Ive seen it is a $1 a plate. On the plate you get one or two pieces of sushi. But its the rotating sushi.. or ''sushi boat''. You dont get to order or anything, just pick something out. I always thought I could eat more than 20 plates.. but now that Im thinking about it, thats kind of a lot?
