Silvio, are you going to try and have your motor looked at before autoXing ? or just do my approach "ignore all bad signs and keep flogging your car until the problem is Easy for people to diagnosis ie really bad"

The Rally Armor UR mudflaps don't look as bad as I thought they would (I'm not a big fan)...but I'm glad I put them on because the new 255-40-17 StarSpecs on 17x8.5 Gram Lights are HUGE and I don't want to kill my paint any more than I already have at Stead.

I'm pretty pleased with the setup...Not that my car has ever struggled with grip, but these should help a little

Dear god. How do those even fit!? What's the offset on the Gram Lights? I don't think my 17x9 +43 5Zigen's stick out that much with 255 SportCups on 'em.

I had to use a small spacer in the rear to give some breathing room between Tire and Strut, there was no rub, but a bit too close for my liking. Tons of room up front. I don't know what Silvio had to do to clear them, but I assume the 8" rim @ +45 may be a slightly easier fit. The car just feels evil...and looks evil...

The Grams are +48 offset

Well, a 5mm spacer would put those Grams right where my 5Zigens are. You're not as low as me I don't think... so you probably won't rub on the inside of the fender like I do on big curbs, but you'll probably need to roll the rears a bit for anything but driving around on the street.

I did the carbon test to my coolant and it came out good (got too lazy to do the compression test).
What i did is run the overflow almost empty so it has more room to fill up without spilling. it never overheats (atleast thats what the subie temp gauge says), I am going to keep driving till it dies and then I save for new motor

i got about 1 or 3/4 of an inch between the tire and the strut and yeah mine is a +45.
When I have a sub and 3 (sometimes 2) other people in my car I rub my rear fender, but my fenders are not rolled

PreReg with SCCA membership and its only $40 , could be as much as 12 minutes of seat time probably only 8 due to a high turn out though. You can probably crash with Gabe and I at my buddy's in the bay if you want to.

I need to figure out how to get an alignment done Before saturday and then i can play at the autoX as well ...

Gabe bailed on me, so I couldlet you co-drive, if you're interested.

You'll need to pre-reg asap to make sure there's a spot for you , and a lil something for a co-drive fund would be nice $20 or something for tire/brake wear

Warning .... You're going to become addicted to Rally Cross !!!!

Just a reminder- tomorrow is Reno SCCA's annual tech inspection day for the Solo season. If you want to get your car teched for the whole season, show up at Summit Racing tomorrow between 9 and noon. There will be coffee, soft drinks, donuts and barbeque. And if you don't want to get teched, show up anyway. See you all there.

So I test fit the new wheel/tire setup tonight and they fit! I can just barely get them to rub if I try really hard, but I think they're going to work without any alignment tweaking or spacers. I'm not even sure where they're rubbing since they didn't rub enough to leave any evidence on the tires after my test drive. They're just a hair from touching the struts in the back, but they fit!

245/40/17 Starspecs on Nick's old 17X8 +48 5Zigen FN01R-C's.

Silvio is moving to Sac this weekend, so still looking to coach/co-drive in SM if possible. Don't make me kick your ass in Sue's WRX.

The evo got a nice Spring treatment today.

1. BC Tuning check up.
2. NEW 235/45 StarSpecs $50 mail in rebate right now.

Now all I have to do is come out to Autox. Which I plan on.

I thought you could put 275s on an EVO. What is with this narrow and tall 235/45 crap?

Sue doesn't run until the afternoon, so still looking for a co-drive/coaching in SM.

I added the run group classes to the individual events on the calendar over on RenoSCCA.org. Be sure you know what color you are, some changed since last year.

Sunday Event #1 Run Group Order: BYGW

Run Groups
White = AS, BS, CS, DS, ES, XP, BP, CP
Blue = ASP, SM, SSM, SU
Green = BSP, CSP, DSP, ESP, FSP
Yellow = All others

Novice & RNP will be run during both halves of the day.

If you're absolutely desperate, you can use the Mazda tomorrow. Not gonna be worth many points if the field is crowded though.

I forgot this weekend was AutoX, I still have some maintenance I want to get done on the STi before I flog it out on the course. I should be attending the next event.

It was like last year, but not as much. You get 3-4 good runs in before it starts to go away. We're still running sweepers between run groups too, so everybody gets a fresh surface.

Also, AWD is not a requirement- I left at lunch with the lead in PAX in Nina's Mazda, even though my best clean run was 1.1 seconds slower than my best scratch.

The surface felt pretty good, though I'm on wider and newer tires this year. My car felt laggy though. Hope I don't have a mechanical issue. Finally got into the 39's on my final run, but nailed the apex cone in the chicane.
