I need some help deciding on an exhaust for my car...I'm leaning towards the Scoobysport system, full turbo back to start with. I've seen that it produces the best low end torque, which is what I want to go with my slow automatic. But it is a tough decision, because I really like the Vishnu kit too. I haven't had a lot of time to browse systems lately, so whats the buzz? Discuss.

For cost issues, I'm going to do the turbo back first, than an uppipe later, my goal is to find a JDM spec catless OEM uppipe. But for right now, I need a turbo back.

I just got the MRT turbo back 4 inch tip and love it not loud at all untill you get on it. I had the BPM GT turbo back before much louder and I think the MRT is more powerfull and a nicer system by far.

P.S you need a flex joint in your uppipe and exhaust trust me I had fitment problems with out one and so do alot of people

I'm pretty happy with my Vishnu... it's pretty mellow, no droning. My goal wa performance w/o the noise if possible, and this seems to be a pretty good setup.

Zero's right about the up-pipe. I had leaks until I finally tossed some ceramic gaskets between the header and the up-pipe, but a JDM catless should be fine if you install it with new OEM gaskets.

Alot of people are doing PDE downpipes, then a cat-back. The PDE dp is a stock replacement piece, so you'll be able to use the stock parts or aftermarket parts with it. I hear it works great at increasing low-end torque. So, that's another option.

I think the only other systym I would go for would be the Vishnu. I think there both equal in quality. After my BPM system and the fitment problems I new I should have got the MRT as luck would have it now I do.

The current TURBO magazine has a comprehensize(almost) turbo back exhaust test, it's ok, but they do mostly the pricey systems, they don't have APS, COBB, VISHNU and others like that MRT. But still worth looking at I guess.

The cool thing with the MRT is that it will pass a CA smog test I dont think the others will. Vishnu's might cause its made in CA but if its for off road use only it might not.

I'm pretty sure it won't pass... it's only got 1 high-flo cat... I'm actually worried about passing NV smog with it... hopefully they'll just plug in to my OBD-II port and do it that way...

The MRT has one high flow cat in there system it must be a good quality cat and might cost more. It might cost Shiv more money to make there system in CA or it might be for performance reasons. I do know that my BPM would not pass I have heard the cats they use are shity but it feels like the MRT is making more power. So it must be in the quality in the cats its strange the way they work.

Matt,

This link should solve any and every problem or concern about cat-back exhausts. It compares most of them available on the market.
