Default front mount intercooler,rad mount?

im looking for a front mount inter cooler, but not the usual kind. im looking for one that mounts wear the rad mounts or infront of it or something, you know like the wrc car.

basically i want to get my cooler out of the gravel but still get front mount power. or maybe some one knows a strong gravel resistant front mount intercooler?

thanx

The WRC style IC/radiator setup would be pretty hard to put into a street car IMO. You'd need a new hood w/ a extractor vent, as well as a ton of custom piping for the radiator and IC. Plus you'll probably have to move a lot of the stuff on the front of the motor, and possibly delete the A/C. A custom intake manifold might also be required since I don't think there's room to route the IC pipes around the motor up high... Maybe if you were building a track car, where you could yank all the emissions stuff and have a bare engine bay, and had access to someone that can do a lot of custom fab stuff for cheap, you might be able to do it for under $10,000.

On the other hand, there are IC's that don't get destroyed by rocks, and/or a screen does a pretty good job of protecting 'em. I'm not sure about the '04 body style, but for the '02-'03, Prodrive makes a screen that would protect a FMIC as well as add downforce / reduce drag on the car.

You can put some heavy duty screen in front of the regular style IC. To keep the gravel off it.
