Default K&N Filter?

Which filter fits my 99 Legacy 2.5 GT Wagon?

K&N
33-2232
or
33-2154

Looks like it depends onwhich OE filter it takes. If you have your VIN, a dealership should be able to tell you which OE filter it is, then you can cross over to the K&N...

OEM 16546AA020 = K&N 33-2232
OEM 16546AA070 = K&N 33-2154

You could also look on youe current filter for a PN.

Just called Subaru and they said that the OEM is 16546AA020. i guess that answered my question. 33-2232 is the one... Thanks!

IGT is like $60 and K&N is only $40. Its a cash issue. If you can get me an IGT for around the same price then let me know.

What's the advantage? I'm not on the K&N bandwagon, in fact I don't think they are all that much better than OE... that's why I question why any other brand is any better.

ITG's are nice but not really worth the cost difference. I think the guys around here were able to get the ITG's for the same price as the K&N's, but that's just because the K&N for the WRX is like $50.

I ran the K&N panel filter and never had any issues, and I'm pretty sure the Injen intake on my car also uses K&N cone filters, and it's running like a champ too.

Here is a whole discussion on them:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=378109

ITG show considerable difference in performance (there is a graph link somewhere in there) compared to like 5 different brands.
