Default mike A Houl

So i bought my STI from the carson Houl deler and then said they where going to be seding a paper for a 5% intrest rate to sign, so the guy comes to my dads work and it says 9.6% intrest rate. so my dad calls the dealer and asked them whats going on and they sadi we did not get approved for 5% so my dad got the number to the loan place and they said they approved it for 5%, so my dad called back the dealer and they tried to play it off so they said they would take 3000$ off the price of the car. We where happy and today they bring by the deal to my dads work and it was back to 9.6% so my dad calls the loan place agian before contacting Mike AHOLE and they said it was still 5% so my dad called the dealer and got hella pissed and they where saying sorry and shit, but my dad was hella pissed and called his loyor(sp) and he said they should be able to get the car for free now. so we will c what happends.....Never go to mike AssHoul in carson

So I get the impression you want us to know the dealership didn't handle your deal very well.
Sounds like a pretty squirmy way to do business...

Hell, if you can get the car for free (which I doubt will happen) I'd go to Carson this afternoon for my free STi!

BTW: it's "Michael Hohl Honda/Subaru of Carson City"

"Mike Houl" looks like a Hawaiian Subaru dealer.

I told your dad about this scam last meet where the dealers get kick backs for signing people up for over interest rates. If the dealer can get you a 5% interest rate but gets you to sign the 9% interest quote then the loan officer gets the defference. Its a slimmy world we live in and your still better off getting the loan on your own and paying cash for your purchase. Might want to have the lender write your father the check and then pay cash at the dealership and take your 5% straight from the lender. Its not worth the hassel to deal with these people they lie, cheat, and steal for a living.............

Sorry to hear the experience isnt going so well but its deffinatlly not worth the fight. Tell your dad just because the layer thinks he can get the car for free its still not the right thing to do. It will cost something in the end and will make you no different.

Just dont return the business for the next one

Good to know!

Sam, if you go to Reno Lithia, let us know first. We know some of the guys there, and will refer you directly to them to hopefully bypass any newbie salespeople. But if you look at or even buy an Evo instead - that is cool too. Nice car!

Just get the 5% and the $3000 off and be happy... that sounds like a pretty good deal.

Lately, I have been hearing that people are paying WAYYYYYYYY to much for their STI's. (Not necessarily in this case). Are people not doing their homework on KBB.COM or other like sites?

When I first shopped for my WRX, Summer of 2003, the Reno dealer salesdroid said they would not go a dime under the price on the window, which included about $3,000.00 in dealer markup. I laughed, realized I didn't really "need" the car at the time and left. I didn't want to pursue it at that time.

I have taught car buying in a Consumer math class and have learned a great deal about all the inner workings of car sales. (It appears that many members here know of all of this stuff).

When I bought mine, i paid invoice plus about $100.00, and they took my trade in and gave me what I wanted for it. (I didn't want to sell it locally or to a friend, ask me why in person if you want the details).

I called, asked for the sales manager, stated what I wanted and what I wanted to pay for it, secured the deal, payed cash (had my own financing), then mentioned trade in and drove the car home.

I understand the some people may want the 2005 model "TODAY" and thus may have to pay a premium to get it. For my money, I would wait until the price dropped to near invoice, like they always seem to do on Subarus.

Sorry if I got off on a tangent here.

Franz

Michael Hohl sucks. They've sucked in most every dealing I've had with them. Their service dept. sucks worse than their sales dept. The only good experience I had was that I got some WRX take-offs w/ tires for $200 about two years ago.

Weird...I have always liked them much better then lithia. I went to get my door handle fixed (which they fixed) and mentioned a clunking inbetween shifts. They found the problem, fixed it, and even gave me a free tranny service.
