Oceano Dunes kick ass!
So, apparently the oceano dunes right next door to where we live is the only place in California where you can actually drive you car down onto the beach. We've taken the Jeep down there a couple times now, and... it kicks ass! Short of being on a racetrack, this is one of the most fun things you can do with your pants on. Jeeps are awesome too... I have even more respect for their 4-wheeling abilities now that we've taken a 17 yr-old factory stock Cherokee out and cruised around the soft-sand dunes for hours with no problem. Just air down the tires to 10psi or so, put it in 4wd-low, and go for it. You just gotta watch out that you don't do something stupid like drive through deep water on the beach and get ruined like this guy:

If that was my truck, I'd claim it had been stolen, and nothing on earth would sway me from that.

With the resident P-shop operators on this board, I knew before I even posted it that this thread would end up with that Bronco in an OWN3D picture.

Maybe the jokes on us. Maybe that's the Bronco version of the Cadillac Ranch, and some surfer planted it there.

Hey Matt, what all did you do to your Jeep back when you were off-roading it?

I miss my Jeep sometimes. It was tons of fun. At least I can still play with the Tundra.

No, it's all good.
Actually, they work a lot better with 33's, unless you go absolutely crazy on the suspension and change the geometry, longer control arms, bigger lift, etc. I put 35's on it briefly, and I just didn't work as good, it really took away a lot of travel. I think 33's are perfect for mildly modified setups like mine had.
