Default South Reno Test Track is now closed...

So, for those of us who frequent South Meadows, the 90 MPH Sweeper and the test track are no longer open

I was follwoing the damn SVX over to Eric's last night, probably about 60 MPH or so, you know, good residential cruising speed...And Reno PD's finest comes out of no where, no radar, nothing, disco balls blazing.. and pulls me over...

The officer was uber-cool and let me go after we argued about how fast I was going...
"Uh, 65 Officer.."
"62!!"...
"I was on my way to my freind Eric's house for some French Fries and gravy"..

He told me.."Don't run over any joggers, okay?"

Anyway...I got away this time...I have a feeling my twin STi set the bait for me out there...E, you better watch yo ass on that street, or this guy will git cha..

did you see on the news last night?

they want to use a 94' ford taurus with NO markings as a patrol car. this means you will never know when the cops are around. so becarefull, the next time the slow guy in the front of the pack is holding you up, you might not want to flip him off as you see his badge......... :?

That's scary. Good thing you didn't get a ticket. All the streets out there are 90 mph sweepers.

Good for the cops. However, I will *never* pull over for an unmarked police car. How am I supposed to be able to tell the difference between a police '94 beat-ass Taurus and one of the 10,000 of the other '94 beat-ass Tauri? How am I supposed to be able to tell if a legitmate officer is pulling me over, or if some crazy Ford owner is just trying to rob me w/ some flashing lights?

They can feel free to take my speed, and chase me till a black and white or an NHP blue comes and pulls me over.

If you call 911, they can tell you if an unmarked police officer is legitimately trying to pull you over. They have to radio that in.

Actually, they don't like it if you use 911, but I don't know the non-emergency number for Reno dispatch.

The dispatch for Reno and Sheriff's is 334-2126, my Sara works there.

I'm not sure abotu NV, but many places in CA have a special number (like 711 or something) specifically for that purpose. However, I believe the law (again in CA, I'm not sure if NV's the same) is that you do not have to stop for an unmarked police car, it's not safe to require citizens to stop for any car w/ flashing lights. They are supposed to call in a real car if you choose not to stop.

It's much harder for a rapist to drive around in a replica black and white w/o getting pulled over for impersonating a cop than for him to toss some lights on the dash of his Cavalier.

No! I don't want to know what it is. If I know what it is, I'd have to call it. Then I can't annoy them by calling 911. If enough people started calling 911 to ask about an unmarked Tarus pulling them over, hopefully they'd pull the unmarked beater off the street for being too much of a nuisance on the 911 system.

Luckily I don't know what area code that phone number is for.

Very nice, I like the logic there. True you *don't* know the area code.
