Street Modified next year
Matt and I were talking about having an SECCS challenge running in SM class next year on a set of these tyres. Anyone else interested? We would have to agree at the start of the year which events to miss (e.g. I would seriously like to skip the crappy divisional).
It looks like the only other regular in SM class this year is Victor in the mini, so one of us will probably end up with a trophy at the end of the year. Thoughts, opinions? |

sounds like fun.
I'd be down if there was a trophy for last place

I'm not paying $200/tire when I don't have a truck and trailer. Using those tires would basically cost me $1600 to $2400 for the season.
Why spec a tire at all? I'll beat you guys in SM on Hankooks.

Actually, with the exception of the 285/30-18, I don't know what size you were planning to run... Oh, and what Scott said, only on whtever rubber happens to be cheap.

Street Tire is perfect for us as a group. It allows us to compete against each other directly (well, most of us... you STX guys gotta figure out a way in next year. ) without having to settle on a single class. Besides, only the STi owners will be competitive in SM. The WRX, RS, and others will have to spend silly amounts of money to catch up.

If you wanna do a cheap spec tire "series", you might as well make it something ridiculously cheap like Pep Boyz specials. Think how much fun it would be sliding around all over the place...
