Nate's gonna try to have Drift Leg v.2 at the Sunday drift day

I was at Buttonwillow. I don't think it really matters which wheels are driven when Nate drives.

FYI, Drifting in Dec. is only in the paddock. January they get half the track.

Of this I am aware

We figured we should let Nate play in a safer environment before we let him near k-walls again

I have heard quite a few good things about HOD. They are very noob-oriented and put safety and instruction ahead of simply running more circles around the track.

no!

Nate got the 92 (i think) black legacy turbo that Joe had. It's rear wheel drive again. Last Saturday both Nate and I were at the shop working on our Legacys.

Josh's is nearly complete, then I'll get it detailed.

I'll probably head out to watch the Sunday event. Should be fun.

I would expect a lot of the same instructors Thurs & Fri with very simialr emphisas on safety, and skills not speed. Many will probably stay into Sat.

The Thuderhill school has a very good rep. Mostly SCCA instructors, and very experienced. Probably better organized than Thurs. & Fri from a classroom instruction perspective.

I'm Not sure about the Sunday group yet. Nobody appears to know much about that group.

NCDA are a decent group. I don't know how good their instruction is, but I know Nate from S-Squared is an occasional instructor for them on grip events (when he isn't around jockying around on the drift side of things).

Currently it looks like there are only 31 people signed up for Sunday's event on MAE... Where are all the Sac guys???

Note that it is a "grip" event on the track, so no drifting required. Though you can try that in the paddock

Well, the drift guys never got back to me, so i left Sat. evening. Fro he noise coming from the far end of the padock where they were setting up at the end, I'm probably glad I left. I can stand the singing of my tires indefinitely, but I think that screaming would have driven me crazy...

You missed 3 great days...

30 something cars on Thurs. + 12+ instructors. Over 100 track miles for me, and students got even more I think.

Fri. was 50 cars and maybe 20 instructors. Still a great day, but windy.

Sat. was 75 cars and 30+ instructors. best weather of all.

All days were rotating 30 minute run groups. Many people were tired after their first afternoon session and quit... I think I got about 250 miles in total.

HOD is a good group. More or less the same group of instructors/coaches for all 3 days with some extras on Sat. I'd reccomend either HOD, or Thunderhill Street School for most anyone.

Sorry, no Video. I left the camera mount sitting on top of a stack of tires in my garrage. I was pissed. I thought it was in my "track" box. Damn...
