So, I was installing my intercooler (thanks Dean) this afternoon, and I clearly see the holes that the intercooler screws into, and they line up. But once it is on the turbo and throttlebody it will not line up with those holes. Are there any tricks to getting it to line up with the holes?

What? You mean the little mounting brackets that the intercooler bolts to on either side? They're little thin metal brackets. Bend them bitches.

I know the brackets that you speak of. Which direction does the IC need to go to get to the holes? My friend had this problem with his IC and we just forced that thing to fit. Once you get it in one hole, the other should be easy.

it needs to go up (towards the firewall) and to the driverside. about an inch diagonal.

I have a set of the mounts from my '04 STI block if you want to try those. The left might be slightly bent as I used it as the lifting point for the engine.
