Default GrimmSpeed Downpipe Arrives!

GrimmSpeed introduces the Catless Downpipe for Subarus. GrimmSpeed’s Catless Bellmouth Downpipe is one of the first modifications that should be done on your car!

The OEM downpipe contains two very restrictive catalytic converters, killing the power potential of your car. Our downpipe is a full 3” CNC mandrel bent design with a wax-casted bellmouth. Using a unique wax-casting design for our bellmouth, it has allowed us to create a very smooth bellmouth that allows for optimal flow. The outlet of the downpipe has a standard 3” 2-Bolt flange that will mate up with most aftermarket cat-backs on the market. In typical GrimmSpeed fashion, all pieces of the downpipe are made from 304 stainless steel; flex, bellmouth, piping, even the flanges! Stainless steel flanges are very rare, most competitors try to save money by going with a polished mild-steel flange, not us!

By using a downpipe that is catless, it allows you to fully maximize your exhaust flow which will increase the ability of your car to produce huge horsepower and torque gains. Turbo power, response, and efficiency is greatly improved. Once you have added our downpipe to your vehicle, you must be retuned.

Every downpipe has a second o2 Bung with cap for those who wish to monitor oxygen levels. The secondary o2 Bung is located in the bellmouth for ease of installation. Having a secondary o2 Bung saves you time and money because you will not have to pay a shop to install one for you.

If that wasn’t enough reason to go with the GrimmSpeed Downpipe, we have went one step further and added a flex-joint in the downpipe. Why do you need a flex section in the downpipe you ask? Adding a flex joint has two main functions; allows the pipe to expand/contract during heat cycling with out cracking welds and it makes installation much easier. All aftermarket cat-backs are a bit different in their fitment, the flex joint allows you to mate our downpipe to almost any aftermarket cat-back with complete ease.

Replacing your factory catalytic converter sometimes causes a ‘cat converter efficiency’ check engine light. You can either use tuning to delete this CEL or you can use a mechanical fix.

All GrimmSpeed exhaust products are intended for off-road use only.

There's no reason to measure EGT's in the downpipe...it's way too far from the engine to be meaningful. The first bung is for a wideband and the 2nd is for the stock rear O2 sensor.

lol trust me i know. i shouldnt be making product descriptions at 1am(and helping a customer an an egt gauge problem at the same time). there are 2 o2 sensor bungs. one for the stock narrowband, and one for a aftermarket wideband.

changing post now..
