I'm trying to sell my old WRX ECU to Heather, but it's got an EcuTek license installed on it that makes it locked out to the Open Source ECU tools she's tuning with.
The easiest way to unlock the ECU is to find an AP, marry it to the ECU, then unmarry it, thus writing the OEM maps back to the ECU. Does anyone have an AP lying around they could loan to me and Heather so we can do this? Even if it's married to your car, you should be able to unmarry it, loan it out, then remarry it and reload your maps. If you're comfortable with that, it should work, it's just more hassle. I'm not 100% sure Heather hasn't been able to get the ECU working, but I thought I'd put this feeler out there on her behalf in case she hasn't been able to get my ECU flashing.

Scratch all this. Sounds like Heather was able to get my ECU overwritten without having to jump through EcuTek's hoops.
