I'm guessing you'll get a case of trench foot.

I kicked a suitcase that was on the floor while unpacking some crap in the spare bedroom.

Go watch "Lost in Translation". Do what the Japanese doctor tells Scarlet Johansen's character to do.

If you broke your toe there is a good chance bone marrow is leaking in to your blood stream and the fat emboli could cause blockages in your kidneys, lungs, and brain. Symptoms are extreme pain in said areas due to the clotting in your blood stream, vomiting due to the decrease in kidney functions, and loss of consciousness due to intracranial pressure. To stop your vital organs from shutting down and avoiding eminent death have a trained professional reset the break, rest for a day or two and hydrate properly.

That will be $500...

I don't think I broke it. I'm already walking on it pretty normally, and the bruising is already clearing up. I probably just jammed it real good and ruptured a blood vessel in the joint or something.

That's good news.

Wear opened-toed shoes to let it move, stay mobile, and soak your feet in warm water if the bruising doesn't continue to clear up.

That will be $500...
