Forced induction with larger turbo and tuning, use the thicker gasket. NA, use the thinner IMHO.

If you aren't sure if the head and block are flat, use the thicker.

I was under the impression that OEM gaskets were usually the best option, but I'm not sure if that applies to engines outside of the EJ205/EJ257 blocks.

To be honest, if I had that question, I'd post it on NASIOC and include the brand names of the gaskets and complete details on your setup. If you do, please post a link here.

Oh, and Welcome to SECCS!

Got a link or more info on said kit? Thicker is theoretically better when adding a turbo to a N/A motor as it should lower your compression a tad.

Is this the kit? http://www.spomotorsports.com/Catego...tomerID=201582

Is the "Perfect Power Computer" a standalone or a piggyback? Will the car be smogable?

Looks like a UniChip in the picture. Which is a piggyback, and should remain smoggable, though the quality of the UniChip on a Subaru ECU was suspect due to the way the UniChip simulates the crank angle sensor vs. the way the ECU expects it... at least that was the case on the WRX.

You don't have to smog because of where you live?

Ukiah eh? My Uncle owns a construction company in Laytonville, my cousin lives in Willits and I grew up in Santa Rosa.
