Default Hot August Nights.

My Pop and I are planning on taking his '64 Chevelle to Reno, Maybe saturday. What should we expect? I know that they are blocking off a big portion of downtown, Is there still gonna be somewhere to park? As well as easy access? 11:1 cr, and a HUGE solid lifter cam, and a four speed make for a bad stop and go car . Will it be a huge hassle?

I'll be out in a Chevelle SS too. Its gonna be rough to find a place to park, you might have to walk a ways. There are tons of parking garages in downtown if you don't mind payin. Its easy to get to by foot though. There are also plenty of places to go besides downtown.

My stepdad stopped taking his 69 Vette out to HAN because of the traffic and crap. Now we just go out on foot.

If the car is a "bad stop and go car" then I wouldn't recommend driving it around down town.

We really didn't plan on driving downtown or cruisin' (I thinks that costs money, Like $125) but we want to go and walk around and see the sights, maybe catch a whiff of methanol or something

Go to Downtown Sparks, Victorian Square by the Nugget. It won't cost you a thing if you still want to cruise some. It's a great spot to look at cars as well. Live music, the whole shibang. Try the Hilton parking lot, Atlantis, and the Peppermill, all are great spots to check out the cars.

Also if your looking for a place to park downtown, the bank of america/new york life building parking lot is free. grab a ticket and there is no attendant there on the weekends. Last HAN I parked there and no one was inside the garage. I used to work in that building, so that's how I know about it.

Good luck with your adventures. That is some scary stuff, too scary for me.
