according to sfrscca.org there is a rallycross at thenderhill in willows, ca on sep 16 and one the following day at the costa contra fairgrounds in antioc, ca the following day on the 17th. regaurdless the venue there is a rallycross that weekend for at least one day.

That's weird, I thought both days were at Antioch. Wish I could go, but I don't have decent tires yet.

Would winter-type tires work good enough? I'd imagine they would. I've always wanted to rallyx.

Snow tires are perfect, since none of us wants to drop the cash on actual rally tires.

That's sweet, I really might want to participate. How hard are these types of rallyx on a car? I've only seen pictures. The ones I have since didn't look too intense.

It'll be harder on your car then auto-x, but nothing like a real rally event.

Well I was reading some stuffs and lookin at some other stuffs and it made me want my GC coilovers back so I can raise my car a bit from where it is now. At my cars current height I'm sure it's too low.

Harder on your car, followed by auto-x?

The part of the brain that distinguishes between "then" and "than" is missing from Nick's head.

I want an old Subaru GL-10, with an exo cage, a lift kit, and skid plates, just so I could rally the hell out of it, and not care

Me too, but I want to start with an RX or XT, so that it is cool before I make it cool.

I would love to build a rally-x car, that has to be a blast. I'll be at trials that day, but hopefully someone goes and runs...

I think it is

I can't seem to break the habbit, no matter how hard I try. Sometimes I wonder if it'd just be easier to convince everyone else in the world to change rather than my own brain.

(Oh crap, did I do it right that time?)

Yeah, that one was right.

Damn. I've been thinking about this for the last few days, actually - picking up another cheap set of stock rims with whatever tires are on them to run the odd rally-x with. There's no way I'll be able to do this one, though.

i talked to the person in charge at sf region, and they said that the event is only one day and is the one in antioc.

the event that i did before was not as harsh on the car as one may think. with the exception or me rear swaybar problem, all wheels probably never left the ground. ie: a bounced wheel due to rebound from a rut, jump, or somehow bottomed out suspension. but you may use the rev limiter once or twice.

as far a tires, i was lucky and the tire shop screwed up and they gave me a/t tires instead of the summers i ordered. then i got my summer tires when i got back from the event. and i saw a guy there with a set of rt615's

the thunder hill venue is mild dirt with no rocks to report. i have no mudflaps, and haven't noticed any new scratches or chips.

oh and there is parade lap that i think autocross should adopt. (please nevermind if that idea has already been abandoned, i'm still new) it's a drive around the coarse after the walkthrough, before the race starts.

all in all, it's just really good fun.
