Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me.
Default ThunderHill This Weekend $110 /day!!!!!

Not even up on their web site yet. heck, not sure I should even be telling atendees/students... http://www.team-racing.org

Contact Bonni Directly: teamracing@weatherwax.net

Show interest and it may happen...

Good group, and can't beat that price with a stick!!!!

From Bonni:

The track asked me to at least TRY and see if we can get a group together
for (try not to freak out) either this Saturday or Sunday (or both) at
Thunderhill. Cost would be $110 per driver with all the usual goodies. It
would mean a LOT of work on my end, but you guys are worth it if you wanna
go. We would need at least 45 paid drivers to pull it off. We could
collect fees using PayPal or by taking cash at the track. The forms can be
sent via email or fax, or you can just email me your information and I'll
fill out a form for you. Let me know ASAP. I know this is last minute, but
the track sure would love us forever if we could at least fill up one of
those two days. I know it's a little crazy, but everytime I turned down
something like this, I found out later that I would have been able to pull
it off. So what do you all say? Saturday? Sunday? Both? Thanks!

If the WRX were good to go, I'd be there... that's damn cheap, and with a great group of drivers.

There have been a few good deals on track days recently. I sure hope the guys that are new to racing are taking advantage of them.

Track days are cheap this time of year... usually cold and/or wet weather keeps people at home. But we've had a really mild winter though... I really wish my car was in trackable condition!

Nope, a driver's license and a will to learn. They have some pretty good instructors.

It is now Sunday only.

They need a few more drivers:

From Bonnie:

Okay, so you probably saw my last-minute email about this weekend at
Thunderhill. Right now we have 36 drivers saying they can come up. In
order for that amount to get paid for, I'll need to charge them $140 without
lunch, $150 with lunch. If any of you can make it up Sunday, we do have
about six or seven who will need instruction. I'm pretty sure that there
are a few who plan to sign up will volunteer, as well. If we can get ten
more drivers to sign up, the price would go back down to $110.

So here's what I need from you all . . . I need some help on Sunday, and I
really could use some help finding another ten drivers. I'm only doing this
because I feel bad that some other group just dumped the date at Thunderhill
and left them without activity this weekend. I think they would really love
us if we could help out -- which might mean we'd get even better dates this
year and in the future. What do ya say?

Thanks!

I'd do it if studded snows weren't my only tires... and I had the money.

FYI, there's a Minor Waiver form you need both of your parents to sign before you can compete. If they can't or won't come to the first event with you, I can get you a copy of it to have signed.

The printed rulebooks are not yet available, but you can download it here.

Post your mods (all of them you can think of) and we can pretty much tell you what class you're in now though. The rules are pretty obtuse when you aren't familiar with them. I'll try to get a copy of the waiver for you at the next SCCA meeting that you can get from me at a thursday meet.

You're legal in ESP and STX although you need some suspension before you'll be competitive in either of those. I would also recommend getting some 17" wheels and good sticky street tires.

Forget classes and rules, just show up and run in novice class for the first season. Then you can decide if you want to get serious about autocross and be in a better position to know what changes to make to the car and what class to compete in.

Bingo. Come run novice, it's a blast, without having to worry about car classes, mods, etc.
