I just got my engine/ tranny mounts in the mail and i had a few questions. First there are 2 washers that came with the set and I dont know if those are for the tranny mount or the engine mounts? Secondly, are the engine mounts the same or is there a right and left side? The reason I ask is because one has movement and the other is stiff. perhaps its just that way until I suck down those bolts. That was my last question. There are 2 bolts on each mount, do I just suck those down as tight as I can or is there a torque rating?
Thanks

I think you're the 1st from SECCS to try to install 'em yourself, so um, read the instructions?
![]() You should absolutely have torque specs for the installation, and a picture to describe what washers go where.... none of us here are going to know off hand, since none of us have done the Cusco mounts yet. If they didn't come w/ instructions, call the place that sold 'em to you and tell them you're missing the instructions... they should point you to some online instructions, or at least tell you how to install 'em.

The drawings look good enough to me to figure out... and the torque specs are clearly listed throughout in kg-m.
Use google for the conversion, for example: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...bs&btnG=Search

I need a torque rating for these, I dont see one. And does that big arrow mean the front of the car?

The diagram has a bunch of different torque specs, like 2.7+/-0.7 kg/m. find a program caled "convert" to do almost every kind of unit conversion you could wish.
The arrow may ormay not be the front of the car, but when you take off one of your stock mounts, that will show you which way the new one goes.

Yeah I figured that would be the case. So im think im gonna call mike at GST to ask about the torque specs of the bolts that I circled.

You already have the torque specs. Like I said, get a conversion program to change kg/m into ft./lb.

Like I said, I need the specs for the bolts that "I" circled. There is no spec next to them. Look at the drawing where I circled the bolts on the engine mount right above that big arrow.

They are not longitudinally load bearing, and they are lock nuts, so as tight as feels good with a 3/8" ratchet. They appear to be 10-12mm thread, so they will take about all you can put into them with a 3/8 drive by hand.

Oh LOOK! SO much better!
As Dean said, I'd honestly just crank them down with a 3/8" ratchet to "good n' tight" and call it a day. But I do this crap too much to be looking for torque specs all the time... ![]()
